Alstom Power, Inc., a global leader in the world of power generation, has selected The Strauss Company, Inc. to complete the construction of a new Administration Building and Advanced Development and Training Center for their Riverfront location.  Work began in January 2009 on the state of the art facility and will include 26,000 square feet for corporate offices and a 20,000 square foot research and development space for manufacturing engineering and training. 

The six million dollar project was designed by Billingsley Architecture and is seeking LEED certification by the United States Green Building Council.  “It was important that we used principles of sustainable design and energy efficiency”, said Mark Gilbert of Alstom Power.  Incorporated in the design are solar panels for energy production, a super efficient Daikin HVAC system and an increase in the amount of green space on the facility’s campus.  “We are proud to be a part of this expansion and are excited that Alstom Power is investing in its Chattanooga location.  Their commitment to taking an environmentally sensitive approach to this construction is certainly commendable”, said John Straussberger, president of The Strauss Company.
