St. Andrew’s Sewanee School has selected The Strauss Company for construction of its state of the art science laboratory and classrooms. The Strauss Company began construction on the 9,000 square foot Wade Hall for the Sciences on June 1st. Designed by Franklin Associates Architects and seeking LEED Gold certification, this building will utilize a rainwater collection system for sewage conveyance and a super efficient Diakin heating and air conditioning system. Structural framing and the components of the mechanical and electrical systems will remain exposed in the ceiling to be used as a teaching tool for the students.
Wade Hall will be ready for use in January 2010, making this the 6th project using LEED standards in which the Strauss Company has built.
